A letter from Thai
It's 4am. I couldn't sleep partly because of jet lag, partly because of feeling happy.
Yesterday we presented a red teaming report. This is Calif’s 10th red teaming in nearly 12 months.
The engagement was beautifully executed. The client was very pleased. They treated the whole team to a nice and cozy dinner.
Doing business in Asia has moments that are hard to find in America. One time when we finished a project, the client even took us shopping for fine clothing.
I know our team still has a long way to go. We are not the best yet. We also had to borrow many TTP from others. We were still caught.
I am happy because our team can learn and is learning very quickly. We have an ideal environment, a squad with excellent teammates in every position. We set very high standards, and everyone is happily pushing themselves to reach higher and farther.
There are many ways to make money. The work we are doing is definitely not the most optimal way.
I am happy because our team has produced long lasting values. It’s getting harder and harder to hack our clients, because we did help them become more and more secure.
Watching how many clients built their team, how they designed the defense system, how they attacked it, how they communicated and responded to incidents, I felt content. The extraordinary effort we put in has been multiplied many times.
Yesterday we also welcomed our 20th member. After the Lunar New Year, we will have one more person. I'm seeing enough work to welcome our 30th member by year end. It's truly a prospect I didn't dare to think about when we first started.
I am happy because everything is telling me that we’re on to something great. Ahead is a long, bumpy road. It won’t be easy, it never was, but we’re off to a really good start.
Thank you everyone for giving us the opportunities to learn with you!
