Calif Ski Team
In Vietnam, we have three seasons: hot, hotter, and damn hot!
So you can imagine my shock when I first saw snow in Yosemite. June 2011, I'd been in the US for five minutes (okay, five months), and I thought, "This is it?!" It just looked like the ice in the freezer! We weren't rich, but my parents had a fridge for a long time, so I already knew what ice was.
Fast forward to my first real snow experience in Tahoe. Mind. Blown. 🤯 Been skiing for 10+ years now, and I'm basically a pro. Basically. With a bit more practice, I'm pretty sure I could represent Vietnam in the Winter Olympics before I hit 90 years old.
One of my big goals at Calif was to take the whole team skiing. Partly for team bonding, partly because these young folks are all better than me at pretty much everything, so skiing will be my chance to shine!
We were going to do a big company ski trip this Christmas, but life happened, and it ended up being just me, An, and the final boss. Think of it as a scouting mission! 😎
We got this sweet ski-in ski-out cabin in Palisades. Skied all day, hot tub in the afternoon... living the dream!
The best part? An loved it! So, if this whole Calif thing goes belly up, at least I've got another ski buddy. ⛷️🍻
